Around Azeroth: Up where we belong
Has this feature suddenly been turned into Around Arkham Asylum? Not quite, although I might be game for an Around Rapture feature sometime in mid-February. This max-distance shot of the mage quarters in Stormwind, submitted by Wrezolution of Twilight’s Hammer-EU, is indeed startlingly reminiscent of something you’d see while dressed in a cape and hanging upside-down from a gargoyle. Watch out when you glide kick, though — it’s a heck of a long way to the ground here.
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We’d love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@gmail.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word “Azeroth” in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing — use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val’kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Who is the best one you wanna be? Alliance or Horde
Who is the best one you wanna be? Alliance or Horde
People actually pay attention to WoW’s story?
And I like me some Night Elves. I don’t like any of the Horde characters. Well, besides Blood Elves. Gnomes and Dwarves look dumb too. Draeni(I know I spelled that wrong?) males look stupid, but the females look okay.
Actual factions depend on what kind of characters you like as well as your moral values. It’s already been proven that mean people tend to choose evil races/factions in video games and it’s pretty blatant when playing WoW, especially on a private server where the Horde has a habit of ganking in the WotLK starting point. I can’t tell you how many times my char was killed before the intro video was over. I have about 3 chars on each faction. Just depends on my mood at the time. Although, I feel like it’s easier to level up at the beginning with Alliance.
All the three characters are alliance. I have a friend played horde from his starting time.
What do you know about horde and alliance ,which one is better?
Personally, I chose Horde.
Just their quotes like “Lok’thar, Ogar” ( Victory, or Death), “FOR THE HORDE!” and all that thing with being honorful is just epic. And who wouldn’t like to have boss like Thrall. Strong, wise, experienced, etc.
But I think we should grate Blizzard for creating so much hate between both factions, that whenever you think of opponent you only want to /laugh, /spit, /roar and /scare on him.
Coming back to the lore : think about Alliance. During the series they had so many foolish leaders. I am talking about Uther Lightbringer and Arthas. Ok ok, everybody think Arthas is badass but still, he betrayed his father. Then we have Illidan, Arthas again and Medivh, worst betrayers. By the way current king Wrynn-something-like-that-called in Stormwind is MAD. He talks all the time how many people Horde “slaughtered”, and how many cities they burned up. Ye, Horde has another guy who’s dream is to make biggest massacre in capitals of Alliance. Can’t remember his name, but he is Horde commander just below Thrall. In Ulduar trailer he said “I could feel the smell of Alliance pigs!”.
Pff. As a fellow member I am supposed to say something like
Around Azeroth: All that remains
Killerbees of <Ambient> on Silvermoon sends in this screenshot of a lost soul in Azshara. The sun may rise, the tide may come in, but he will remain in his lonely crystal prison, stuck in a land of perpetual autumn. Isn’t there anyone around who cleans up these things? Sheez.

Around Azeroth: From the sublime to the ridiculous
Malygos was up at five in the morning today to pick up his bargain Christmas present for Alexstrasza; a delicious slice of turkey seared in a turtle shell with natural flavoring. Shopping on Black Friday is a lot easier when you can fly over the crowds and breathe fire at any queue-cutters. (Thanks to Angeliqa of <Shattered Ravens> on Steamwheedle Cartel-EU for this picture.)

There are more server outages hitting this afternoon, unfortunately impacting the same realms that were down for around ten hours last night. The Seattle datacenter was hit with a nasty power outage yesterday, but we currently don’t know the reasons for the current downtime. There are no blue responses yet, but my gut says there’s some lingering damage that will need to be dealt with this afternoon.
Then again, we might be lucky and they’ll be back in ten minutes. Who knows with these things? Keep an eye on WoW.com and we’ll keep you posted should we hear anything. If you’re not sure if you’re part of one of these battlegroups, the full list is behind the cut.
Update #1: Blizzard is aware of the issue. Not much else at the moment.
Update #2: Looks like most servers are coming up. Our poor friends on Quel’Dorei are still down for the count.
Update #3: Maintenance on these realms not necessarily ‘done’ says Malkorix.
Update 11:57pm: Both battlegroups went down 12 minutes ago. More as we know it.
Update 12:18am: Blizzard says they are working on it and that any compensation will come after the problems have been resolved.
Update 3:37am: The servers are up temporarily, but will be intermittently taken down while they continue to resolve the underlying problem.
