Why Are So Many Women Playing Video Games?

Instead of a dough roller and dolls now women are filling their hands with remotes and consoles. No, this is not a protest over the domestic roles they normally hold, but due to a number of reasons. Here is my opinion on my more and more females are playing video games.

Really all I use my computer for is my investing software, but my wife likes to play games to that lead me to my question. The number one reason is the growing interest that women have in tech. More women are into learning new fields whereas in the old days, only household chores are to be expected from them. When we say technology, not only washing machines, vacuum cleaners and microwave ovens are the things that women are involved with. The graphics and sound effects that the video games have are cool and girls seem to be as attracted to them as men are. They don’t mind making mistakes or playing around to learn the buttons, so they are learning.

A big factor is financial stability. As girls hold paying jobs they can both afford to play video games, and deserve to as a stress reliever. That being said one can be sure that there are times when the natural thoughts will kick in along with a preference for more essential items before indulging in tech. This is a significant reason why more women are playing video games as it is one of the determinants of achievement.

The third major reason is that game development has focused a lot more on women than it used to. A lot of games revolve around action and adventure, most common of which are set in the war field. There are a lot of women in the world (ha ha yeah 52%) so game developers are starting to see this large potential market, and so more games are being created for them. Softer graphics and more feminine story-lines are targeted, although the games of these themes can still be played even by men.

The number four reason is pure enjoyment, the same reason as most men. Sewing, cooking and cleaning are no longer an area of “entertainment” for women, so their hobbies have grown along with the forwarding of technology. Don’t be surprised to find a woman with a gaming console during her free time.

Fifth reason why more women are playing video games is to be in a competition against the men. Although this is a friendly match, they do participate in the thrill of the game and at times would be heralded as the winners.

The way that society thinks has changed. Gone are the days where men are dumbfounded - or even furious on occasion - upon finding women whose interest pushes far from the four walls of their house. Indeed, when more women are playing video games, there is a new common point of interest that can be shared between the two genders, including competition. Adding up video games in the list of introductory topics such as books, politics, sports and movies can also stimulate conversation on a first date. So, aside from the psychological and social relevance of women being able to play video games, having fun outweighs all the other reasons and the objections as well. If things keep going like this I will have to for christmas buy zelda.

The more vivid the graphics, the better. The race to increased market sales is on for different gaming manufacturers as almost every month, state-of-the-art technology are incorporated with each video game. With characters that come almost nearly to life, the gamers are bombarded with details that lead others to believe they would rather not see - too much blood for example. As fast as these stores empty their shelf-full of games is the rise of a question that are met with different reactions: Are video games too violent?

Of course, there is more than one side in conflict here. On one hand are those who believe that the games aren’t, specifically the gamers and the developers themselves. Mainly people need to know how much dicipline the gamer has, and that could affect the extent of the influence. It has become a matter of self-control and a measure of putting things into proper perspective. If people get more violent after a few hours of gaming then maybe it’s their lack of dicipline, rather than the game causing the problems.

On the other hand however, this point is the same argument as those who believe that video games are too violent. This strong emotion is triggered by the hard core action and realistic effects that some have difficulty detaching their selves from it. Reality can only be shown as how things are, while it is sometimes exagerated, it really need to be based on real life.

There is an argument to be made either way, but we still don’t know if it really causes gamers to turn violent. The debate could possiably go on forever, but there are many ways that games can do this without retaining any effects. To start our everyone should pick a upper limit for how much they will play games daily. These are especially for people who have not much will-power to identify reality from not. Sticking to a regement will help you learn discipline.

Secondly is to know when enough is enough. When you find yourself overly invested in the death of a in game character take a deep breath. Not only does it clear your mind, it helps your body normalize as well after the surge of adrenaline. Third is for parents, who are allowing their kids to play video games. At a young age, discipline should already be imbibed at this crucial formative stage. The impressions may be hard to remove once it affects a child deeply and without guidance, so the task then falls upon the parents. If you want a game that is fun and not overly violent then you should think about buy legend of zelda namely buy oracle of ages.

Being objective can be hard when you are talking about violence and tech as there are many opinions. What can be sure, though, is that individual’s should have their own mastery of technology so that thy won’t have to ask if video games are too violent.
