Are Playstation 3’s Really Worth It?

With the current console battle in a full blown war, we take a look at the PlayStation 3 and its huge price tag. Alot of people are running around saying the PS3 does not deserve a high price, but is this true? A simple yet sweet answer is no!

The PS3 is an awesome system and should not be compared to its rivals. There is a full blown war between the next generation of consoles. But for an avid gamer you will be losing out on a lot if you do not purchase yourself all three of the top consoles, which are PS3, XBox 360 and the Wii. We will now take a look at why you need all three.

PlayStation 3
The massivley successful Playstation brand is much loved, and to be an honest person the play station 3 has not let anyone down. The console is of course pricey, but just look at what you are getting. A hard drive, probably a console with the best rendering of graphics, top titles and not to mention the Blu-ray. The Blue-rays probably end up costing more than the whole system.

XBox 360
The 1st console to launch has a major advantage over its competitors and that is progress. The manufacturers know how to manipulate the Xbox to get the best performance. Not to mention that it has a lot more games.

Wii
The Nintendo Wii revolutionised playing consoles and games and with that came a new world of experience. Although a lot of the games may not be serious, they are very fun to play. Saying this the Wii is a great family orientated games system.

As you can see from the above all consoles have their own advantages, but one of the main benefits is the broadness of the games. Most games only have sole rights to each console, so not obtaining all three could see you missing out on a great title. You should definatley buy the PS3 as its an awesome piece of machinery.

Video games- Christmas 2008’s ideal gifts

December 8, 2008 by admin · Comment

Video games make the perfect Christmas gifts for 2008. However, there is so much on the video games market at the moment that to the outsider it can be extremely daunting when looking for the right titles to choose for friends and family at Christmas. There are some fantastic games out there on the market to suit almost every taste, and here we’ll take a look at some of this year’s biggest games. Before we do, it should be said that you might like to check out what titles the person you are buying for already has in their collection, to ensure they aren’t disappointed at Christmas. If you’d like to keep it a surprise, then ask a friend or relative of theirs if they can cast a glance over their collection.

The video games market has been dominated in 2008 largely by two major franchises, namely Halo and Gears of War. While the third Halo game brought with it a level of success previously unseen in any video games property (along with a wide range of tie in Halo 3 merchandise such as posters, clothing, action figures, calendars and more), the new hit Gears of War seemed to be stealing a great deal of Halo’s thunder. With its gritty science fiction action and strong characters, Gears of War has become the big hit of the year, also spawning its own merchandise range and a huge legion of fans. Now comes the hotly anticipated sequel, cunningly entitled Gears of war 2, which looks set to repeat the popularity of the first and also build on it further.

Another title that is high on everyone’s lists this year is Dead Space, another action-packed shoot ‘em up that seems to be the replacement for the much loved DOOM games, featuring more horror and alien action than any other game around right now.

The fighting series Soul Calibur returned with a fourth entry, to much praise from critics and fans alike. Also on the action front there is Fallout 3 and the awesome Star Wars: Force Unleashed, which is essential for any fan of the genre.

But 2008 hasn’t just been about violence and explosions. The Wii console really came into its own this year with the advent of Wii Fit- the great system for exercising while you play, using the unique interaction of your Wii console to help you play sports and enjoy aerobics and other workout methods. This has been something of a revelation for the gaming industry and has seen the whole medium regain some much needed respect.

Then again, if you’re after fun, you can’t go wrong with Guitar Hero or Rock Band, both games that are making every wannabe rock star’s dreams come true.

There really is something out there for every taste in the world of video games this Christmas, whether you want to blow aliens up on your Xbox or train your brain on your Nintendo DS, the perfect Christmas gifts for 2008 are easy to find.

Games for the Nintendo Wii

Take Advantage of the Unique Capabilities of the Nintento WII

The Nintendo Wii is unlike any other gaming console ever seen.  It is small, powerful, features beautiful graphics and intuitive game play, and is even helping people to lose weight and get fit by encouraging them to get out of their seats to play.

Many Different Ways to Interact with Games

So far, the games for Nintendo Wii have made outstanding use of the creative technology and unique motion-sensitive controllers.  One of the first games for Nintendo Wii was Wii Sports, which incorporates the controller in such an intuitive way that it is easy to just pick up and play, even for people who have never before used the system.

In Wii Sports, the controllers act as a tennis racket, a golf club, a bowling ball launcher, and boxing gloves.  This game is wildly fun for people of all ages and even helped a lot of gamers increase their level of fitness.

Other games for Nintendo Wii that have proved to be very popular are first-person shooting games.  Because the controller can be pointed directly at the screen and used as a gun, the game play is brilliantly natural.  You no longer have to concentrate on which button controls what; you simply point and shoot.

Even driving games for Nintendo Wii have been quite successful.  Your Wii controller can be used as a steering wheel to control your car, making it a powerful and accurate way to get around in your game.

Other games for Nintendo Wii require you to turn the Wii remote horizontally to use in a fashion similar to classic game controllers.  Even this action is well suited to the Wii remote and feels completely natural in your hands.

Some games for Nintendo Wii forgo the standard controllers all together and use special input devices.  Some music-based games, for example, use input devices that are specific to that game – a guitar, microPhone, or drum set made especially for Wii games can be used to interact with your game in a completely new and creative way.

There will, no doubt, be many new games for Nintendo Wii in the future that use the Wii remote in special ways.  There will also be many more games with specialized controllers.  The Wii has quickly become the gamers’ favorite new machine, and there’s no doubt that future generations and innovations will keep the dedicated Wii fans happy and satisfied for many years to come.

Make sure that you also take a look at our Game Reviews, like the highly popular Tekken 5. We also think you would love our cool gadgets.
