If you’re reading this hopefully you’ve already noticed we made some changes recently at Web Analytics Demystified. In addition to adding two new partners (Aurelie Pols and John Lovett) we over-hauled  the web site and have added a new blog (this one) called The Emerging Technology Blog!

In the next few weeks we are going to start reaching out to technology vendors — both those who are our consulting clients and those that are not — and asking them for 30 minute briefings on their most recent software or service releases. The output from these calls will be what we’re thinking of internally as “TechCrunch for Web Measurement Technology.”

We hope to use this new blog to surface great, new, and innovative technology for the entire community. We promise not to regurgitate press releases — trust me, if we start doing that I will just kill the blog — but given our global presence and experience as analysts and technology evaluators in a variety of situations we think  we can do a good job.

If you have a technology that you think is cool we’d love to hear from you! It can be any kind of technology that measures connected channels — web analytics, voice of customer, customer experience management, social media measurement, mobile analytics, virtual space measurement — you name it!

Finally, on behalf of all three Senior Partners at Web Analytics Demystified we want to thank Judah Phillips, Paul Holstein, Daniel, Joseph, and everyone else who has contributed to a blog here at Web Analytics Demystified. Especially Paul and Judah who wrote such great and compelling stuff — and Judah’s stuff is still here, at least for the time being!

Can the Warcraft Formula be the Last Guide I’ll Ever Need?

World of Warcraft is dominated by a relatively small number of elite players. The game has been online for four years now and it sure seems like some players have been playing every second of those 4 years, easily crushing anyone or anything between them and their goals to become the best around. Is it any wonder that those of us who can’t or won’t make that time commitment look for new guides all the time to help them get better and gain a little ground on the top pros out there. Fortunately, once in a while a new guide comes along that can help the casual gamer become a top player in a world of elites. The Warcraft Formula is the newest, and arguably best, of the guides.

To be accurate, the Warcraft Formula isn’t really a single guide. It’s an entire series of guides, with a new one created and published each month, and only people who subscribe to Warcraft Formula get them. This is really an ingenious solution when you think about it. You pay an upfront fee to get their Fast Track Action Plan, along with a copy of every single guide that’s already been published. The Fast Track Action Plan includes everything from an outline of how to build your character, choose your UI, the right class and professions, to detailed advice on how to get yourself invited into a guild, get your feet wet in PvP without getting humiliated, and get invited on raids. Then each month the Warcraft Formula team will create and send you a new guide with the latest game information in it.

I reviewed the first guides. They were full of top notch content. Each of the guides holds about 30 pages of material and included three feature articles, the top news stories of the month, answers to readers’ questions, an action plan and a preview of next month’s material. Each feature was full of useful content on all sorts of important topics, like building up the most powerful strategy for your Death Knight to the art and science of assembling a 10-player raiding group. They don’t lay out every minute detail for you (what fun would that be?), but you still get a lot more than you find in the general strategies of the existing Warcraft guides on the market. And of course you get tons of extras, like the Fast Action Plan you get when you sign up.

To wrap up this review, let me say that this is a great idea that fills a real need that many of us gamers have: continually updated game info straight from the mouths (or pens) of real experts. You get a new ebook every month, chock full of information you actually want and need, that isn’t already obsolete or nerfed to uselessness for a reasonable monthly fee, . Grab this fast to pull ahead of the competition and move toward the ranks of the Warcraft elite. Click here to make your move.

Customize your Xbox 360

Now that you have your XBox 360 and you’re spending every minute you can with your new toy, how do you take your gaming to the next level? Let everyone know how serious you are by getting custom XBox 360 faceplates. Any schmuck can have an Xbox but what sets you apart from those who dabble in gaming is having your very own customized XBox 360 faceplates. With customized faceplates you can put your own distinct personality and take on gaming onto your Xbox. Whether you want XBox 360 faceplates to match you or your favorite games there is a faceplate out there for you.

Why Bother?

Your first thought might be why bother at all with getting faceplates. Your Xbox is fine the way it is. Think again, your shiny new Xbox is not always going to stay that way. Over time there are going to be scratches on your Xbox. Do you really want that? To keep your Xbox looking new and shiny get XBox 360 faceplates and protect your Xbox from scratches and at the same time make it uniquely yours.

Retro to Out There

You can make your Xbox look seriously old school with XBox 360 faceplates that come in wood grains for that cool vintage look that’s always in. Or find a design that says you whether in color or the design. You can even customize your XBox 360 faceplates yourself by designing your own faceplates with a skin template. The point is that whatever you want your Xbox to look like there is something out there that will definitely make you want to pimp your Xbox.

Look for faceplates that are easy to remove so that the next time you feel like upgrading the look of your Xbox you can without leaving any of that sticky stuff that most stickers leave behind. You want something that will stay on but not something that is impossible to take off. Having the same faceplates all the time would be so boring so leave yourself the option of future customization.

And if you really like your design make sure that it’s something that will last. Look for faceplates that have a protective layer. This will keep your faceplate from fading any blurring into a mess when it’s exposed to heat and direct sunlight. Vinyl faceplates are probably your best bet. They look great and they will last long while you’re in between faceplates.

We are sure that you will also want to take a look at some cool spy stuff and probably you will also enjoy cool gadgets. You might also want to learn about MKV files.

Cheaters Always Win: PSP Cheat Codes

March 10, 2009 by admin · Comment

For gamers, sometimes playing a video game is not enough. They want to win, but they want to win quickly; they do not want to grow frustrated with a game. Above all, they want to have fun, and sometimes cheating is more fun than playing honorably. With cheat codes, gamers are able to unlock levels, characters and bonuses instantly, nullifying the need to beat the game honestly. However, PSP cheat codes are more than just traditional cheats; many game designers bet on players researching these codes, and add tiny quirks into the game that can only be unlocked using cheats. In a way, game developers feed the need for PSP cheat codes, and players feed their need for success.

Dial “C” for Cheat

Most video games have their own specific set of cheat codes. What most people forget, however, is that these codes are programmed into the games; in other words, developers intend to allow players to cheat, calling into question the notion of cheating to begin with. Either way, PSP cheat codes unlock a number of features for gamers. Firstly, cheats can be used to unlock bonuses that would not normally be usable until the game was beaten. These include bonus levels, extra characters and new internal features and game modes. These codes are usually entered at the title screen, or in a specialized code form.

Other PSP cheat codes unlock features that can only be unlocked using the codes. These features cannot be achieved simply by beating the game; players must know the codes to be able to experience these parts of the game. Game designers have fun with these PSP cheat codes, including ridiculous characters, levels and game modes that are often unproductive within the actual context of the game. These codes truly redefine the idea of cheating, since without them, certain qualities of video games would never be unlocked. From levels with zero gravity to characters with abnormally-large heads, these PSP cheat codes usually make fun of themselves, but add another dimension to game play that gamers crave.

PSP cheat codes are available almost anywhere. Books published on specific games will often include a list of cheat codes, but the internet is the most popular database of these codes. Game websites offer lists of PSP cheat codes for almost every game, and they also offer guides and walk-throughs. In the end, players should never feel ashamed for using these codes; while some gamers insist games should be beaten honestly, these codes would not exist if game developers did not intend for them to be used. PSP cheat codes are built into the games, and as such, they should be seen as viable accessories to game play, whether to curb frustration or open new dimensions of entertainment.

At the end of the day you will surely love the button camera or the telephone voice changer. There are thousands of spy gadgets to choose from.

Want To Try Healing In WoW? Then Read This

If you’re considering rolling a healing class in World of Warcraft, but you’re just not sure which class is right for you, then this guide will help you make your decision. In particular, we are going to talk about druids, shamans and priests. We will also talk about how healers can be hard to level, and how this will become easier with “dual specs”. When you have finished reading this article, you will be able to pick the right healing class for your playstyle.

First, there are many different healing classes in World of Warcraft, each with their own pros and cons. The main decisions you have to make are choosing between a shaman, a druid, or a priest. The druid’s strengths are mainly HOT’s (heal over time’s). The priest class offers a mix of heal over times and direct heals. The shaman doesn’t have any heal over time abilities, but more than makes up for this with strong direct heal spells and area of effect heals (such as chain heal). The shaman in particular is a master of raid healing.

However, something you need to remember before you roll a healer, is they can be harder to level, if you’re levelling in a healing spec. If you’re a druid, consider using a druid Leveling Guide, and using the feral talents for quicker leveling speeds.

If you’re a priest, you can follow a specific priest Leveling Guide, and spec shadow. The shadow talent tree can give you unrivalled damage, and also offers several mana regeneration skills and talents.

Finally, if you want to try the shaman, you can follow a shaman Leveling Guide. Instead of leveling in the healing spec, you may like to try enhancement or elemental.

Luckily, Blizzard are finally correcting their mistakes, and in the next patch will be allowing players to have “dual” specs. This is great new if you’re a healer, because now you can solo level and farm for mats, and still heal instances for your guild. So when you need to farm some mats or make some gold, you can quickly change to your DPS spec. This makes it so much quicker and fun to power level a healing class.

In conclusion, this guide has discussed some of the pros and cons to leveling a healing class in WoW. Specifically, we covered the main healing classes, why healers can be difficult to level, and the benefits you’re soon going to receive by using a duel spec. Now that you have finished reading this article, you should have plenty of information to help you decide which healing class is for you.

First Look Inside the Warcraft Formula

World of Warcraft (WoW) is one of the most popular games ever created. With millions of players and heaven knows how much money involved, every possible niche related to the game must be filled. Or not. In truth, there was still one niche open. But not anymore.

Before today, there was no real way for players to get the very latest strategies from information about the different aspects of the game directly from real experts. With the arrival of Warcraft Formula, that niche is now very well filled.

What these guys have done makes so much sense I can’t believe it’s taken this long for someone to do it. When you join, you get full access to the complete library of Warcraft Formula guides. These go back to the Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) release. After that, each month you get the latest guide in the series for an additional $17. Each of these monthly guides comes with PvP strategies, the most recent news about the game, class strategies, the latest gold making options, action plans, and information that’s as fresh as it comes, written up right when it happens.

When you sign up, you get a copy of the Action Plan, a detailed guide that shows even beginners how to build up their account from nothing all the way up to being as effective as the veteran gamers out there. Warcraft Formula really impressed me with all the value it gives. By creating this unique service, the guys behind the product have made it possible for players of all skill levels to start out with nothing and relatively quickly work their way up to pro status. And since the Formula gives you fresh strategies and information every month, players who join will have a leg (or two) up on all their competitors.

Let’s make one thing perfectly clear. The Warcraft Formula isn’t a guide to one single aspect of the game. That is, you don’t get a Leveling Guide or a gold guide or PvP guide alone. You get information on each of those topics, plus a whole lot more. And because you’re getting monthly updates (usually in the form of an approximately 30-page ebook) you’re getting strategies and advice that only Warcraft Formula members will be seeing. This eliminates one of the biggest problems with traditional, single-topic guidesThis is the way, that they quickly get out of date and are mostly nerfed by the time you get your hands on them.

One last thing to think about. Any guide is only as accurate as the people who create it. That makes this guide very good indeed. This guide is written by Brad Johnson and T Dub Sanders, the guys behind Warcraft Millionaire and PvP Bible. In other words, Warcraft Formula is written by two of the big dogs in World of Warcraft guides. Because they are top PvP and game gold experts, these guys are a great source for the best news and information about the game.

If you want to be one of the first to own the next hot new thing in Warcraft guides, you’ve come to the right place. This is the product you want. Don’t delay and take a chance on missing out on Warcraft Formula. Leave your opponents in the dust. check it out!

Why Every Druid Should Have a Guide to PvP

March 7, 2009 by admin · Comment

In World of Warcraft’s Player Versus Player (PvP) combat system, playing a Druid is a challenge. You have lots of opportunities and options, but also there’s a lot of potential complexity. If you have any PvP experience youmay have noticed that Druids are difficult to kill, but also tend to be prime targets in the arena. Because they can do so many things (fight like a tank, heal, even change forms) Druids are extremely versatile. This makes them prime targets for the other side, while simultaneously arming them with the options and abilities they need to defend themselves, if only they know how to use them. Playing a Druid is exciting, challenging, rewarding, and often quite frustrating.

Thanks to Druid’s varied abilities, they have a different ideal strategy for fighting every opposing class. That’s right, the best Druid Player versus Player gamers apply 9 different strategies, one for each type of opponent they face. And of course, you also need to be able to adapt your Druid’s combat tactics to account for the strengths and weaknesses of your allies. There’s a lot of information to master, but the rewards are great.

Many players would agree that Druids have the best talents for 2v2 arena play. Some would make a case that Rogues are better, but few would argue against the Druid adding more depth and variety to any 2 person team. A well designed Druid with solid strategy and tactics can own its opponents in duels, and lead a top-tier 2v2 arena team. These same characteristics make Druids great additions to most 3v3 or 5v5 teams.

Knowing your Druids strengths is only half the battle. You need to know how to compensate for its weaknesses if you want to rise to the top of the PvP ranks. And don’t forget the need to equip your character with the right kind of gear. Learning everything you need to know to get the very best out of your Druid in PvP takes work, but it is worth the effort. Happily, other gamers have already learned all this stuff, and have been willing to write it all down in using a Druid in PvP Guide books. Choosing the best Druid Guide can save you many hours of trial and error and give you the best chance possible to dominate Player versus Player.

Best Ever Spy Games

March 6, 2009 by admin · Comment

Everyone loves a good spy book or film, the secrecy, the action, the spy equipment. So when a new spy game comes out, they generally sell like mad.

But what is the best spy game around at the moment? Obviously you want a game with action and a good story line, but being a spy game, you also want it to be full of spy gadgets and all the stuff that makes you love spy films.

007 Quantum of Solace:

This is the latest Bond game which brings both the Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace story lines together, so you’re really getting two games for the price of one. However, the thing that makes this game good is that it was developed by Activision and used the same graphics engine as Call of Duty 4, which made the graphics amazing which generally improved the whole play of the game. The storyline of the game was also brilliant as it matched the films.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Double Agent:

All of the Splinter Cell games are good, however, this one really stood out to me as you had the ability to play as bad while being good. Plus it contained all of the things that made the original Splinter Cell games good. I’m looking forward to the next Splinter Cell game, Splinter Cell Conviction.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots:

The whole of the Metal Gear Solid series has been amazing, and is very similar to the Splinter Cell games, but even better. Metal Gear Solid contains absolutely everything that you could want from a spy game.

The Bourne Conspiracy:

The Bourne Conspiracy game isn’t a sequel to the movies and it doesn’t star Jason Bourne, or David Webb whoever you want to call him, but it features a brand new agent. If you love fighting with your fists, this one is for your.

If you are a fan of spy books, films and video games, you should give each of these a go.

How To Stop My Xbox 360 From Freezing Up?

March 5, 2009 by admin · Comment

“Why is it that my XBox 360 keeps freezing up?!” Is this the biggest frustrations you ever had since you started playing console games? I can bet more than 50% of XBox 360 users are experiencing this XBox 360 freezing up problem, so if your XBox 360 keeps freezing up, you actually have a few options to stop XBox 360 from freezing up that you can do all by yourself.

During the whole troubleshooting process, there is one main reason my XBox 360 keeps freezing up - Overheating!

We all understand that XBox 360 is merely a simplified version of a high end gaming PC. Whenever you play games with very high requirements it will get busy on the components inside and guess what - your XBox 360 over heats and freezes!

One of the things that I’ve done to prevent my XBox 360 from freezing up as often as it did is to let it “breathe” more. Well, you can certainly achieve this by simply taking out your XBox 360 from the display cabinet, and put it some where near the window to cool the system better.

Other than that, the another cause I suspected on why my XBox 360 keeps freezing up is the internal hardware that is malfunctioning. You’ll see it when this happens because your XBox 360 will freeze up and shows you the 3 rings of death.

For this, you are left with 2 options, you can send your XBox 360 back to Microsoft and then pay a $140 fees plus 6 months waiting time, or you can fix the XBox 360 freezing up problem yourself. However, the electronics of XBox 360 are not as simple as you might thought it is, a small error could damage the whole system.

XBox 360 keeps freezing up no matter what you’ve done?

Learning from a step-by-step XBox 360 videorepair guide is by far the best way you can do to save money and time to prevent your XBox 360 from freezing up again. There are many guides out there that shows you how to open up your XBox 360 and repairing it, but most of them don’t include clear videos on the actual process.

A high-definition XBox 360 video repair guide is exactly what you’ll need to start working on it, all by yourself without any fancy tools, all you need are simple household tool kits.
