Guitar Hero vs Rock Band 2
Since the very first Guitar Hero game in 2005, Activision and RedOctane have been the leaders of the music game industry, until, 2 years after the Guitar Hero release, Rock Band was released into America.
The developers of the original Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero 2 games were Harmonix, but after they completed their second Guitar Hero game, they moved onto a new publisher, MTV Games and EA. After the old developers, Harmonix left, new guys Neversoft moved in and started to create a new game, Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, this was then released in the later part of 2007. The game proved to be a hit until later that year a new game was released, Rock Band by the old Guitar Hero developers, Harmonix. This game featured a whole new range of instruments including a guitar, drum set, bass and mic.
After a year of Rock Band being released, the competition started again. Both EA and Activision released their new games within the same month, November 2008. Guitar Hero World Tour from Activision and Rock Band 2 from EA, let battle commence.
From Guitar Hero’s view, it was a whole new game for them, they had to create a whole new range of instruments, but once they were done, it was clear that they hadn’t cut any corners. Their new drum set has 5 pads and a peddle whereas the Rock Band kit features only 4 pads and a peddle, their guitar also features a new touch bar which allows finger tapping during guitar solos. The new game doesn’t just feature a whole new range of siny instruments, it also has a new music creater which allows you to make your very own songs and then share them to other gamers.
On the Rock Band 2 side, they haven’t changed their instruments much. They have improved the drum set by making it velocity sensitive, basically the harder you hit the pad the louder the sound in game makes, they also changed the foot peddle to metal as people found they broke the plastic one. Beside those few drum changes, Harmonix have not altered their range of instruments.
On the game side of things, Rock Band don’t have a music maker, however, they do have one thing that Guitar Hero does not; a huge selection of downloadable songs on top of their 80+ song set list. This also gets better, any songs that you have already downloaded for Rock Band 1, are still compatible with Rock Band 2 and appear on the set list when you load up the game. Another advantage is that for a small fee of less than $5, you can tranfser most of the songs from Rock Band 1 onto Rock Band 2.
Now that the advantages to each game have been discussed, it now comes to the difficult decision, which one to spend your hard earned cash on. During the economic problems, many people will only have the money for one of these games.
As both instrument sets are compatible with both games, many people will have to choose whether they want the larger and more expandable set list of Rock Band, or the new features and suited up instruments of Guitar Hero.
At the moment it’s hard to tell which game will come out on top to be the master of the music game industry, all I can say is, let the battle of the bands commence.

Wrath of the Lich King Death Knight
In the World of Warcraft expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King, the WotLK Death Knights play a dual role; tanking and DPS. They perform these tasks as well if not better than the other classes. Blizzard has imbued (that’s a real word, look it up) the class with new and creative abilities that most players are likely to enjoy.
The WotLK Death Knight charges in. While others beat on it, he takes the first strike, absorbs the damage and keeps the enemy at bay. The WotLK Death Knight might not be the class you should play if you are more into healing or ranged damage.
PvP
You’re going to have to learn how to play PVP all over again with the Death Knight. After you get used to it you can be very effective. Practice dueling and play the battlegrounds, and when you have the feel for it go ahead and join an arena team.
Raiding
Death Knights shine at raiding. They can tank as well as any class, and can put out high damage.
Builds
WotLK Death Knight talents are split into 3 categories, each of which are fully capable of supporting either a tanking or dps role:
Blood: This tree primarily amplifies the Death Knight’s melee spells, weapons, and abilities, and has a prominent health-regeneration theme.
Frost: This talent tree has a powerful critical strike/bonus damage them and many talents that add physical damage mitigation.
Unholy: This tree has a heavy focus on diseases and related abilities, as well as improving summoned minions. Also has AoE, spell damage shielding, and mobility-improvement sub-themes.
Suggested Professions
As a plate mail wearer, the WotLK Death Knight would do well to choose Blacksmithing as a profession, with Mining as a complement.
You probably won't need a gathering profession since you need to have a level 55 character to unlock a Wrath of the Lich King Death Knight. If you have gold to burn on leveling your Death Knight’s profession, consider Blacksmithing and Enchanting to run around with effective gear while you level.
